I have big news! Bigger news than chopping off my hair, which I did two weeks ago (and do not yet have nice pictures of). But first, I’m sorry for the longest delay yet between posts. I don’t know who I am kidding by writing a diary blog. There really aren’t that many writeable things that go on in my life. Until now!

I’m very happy to announce that I am reuniting with my beloved cat Lola! I really wish that sentence read “I came into some money and I am now rich and by the way I’m getting my cat back” but it is what it is.

When I lived in London I had a cat. I have written about her before herehere and here. Her name is Lola and she is the most wonderful and beautiful cat ever (everyone agrees). I adopted her with my roommate in 2006 and for over three years, the three of us lived together as a happy family. When I moved into my own apartment in 2009, my old roommate and I shared Lola by each taking care of her for a week at a time.  Like a modern family. It worked out really well except for the fact that Lola peed in my car every week.

Three years ago I said goodbye to Lola because I didn’t want to drag her to Toronto and disrupt her happy kitty life. It was heartbreaking to say goodbye to her and I have missed her every day since. I have visited her as much as possible and I even got to hang out with her for two separate weeks when my old roomie went away.

In July, old roomie had a super cute baby boy and her house is now full with a fiancé, a baby and Lola. I’d mentioned on a few occasions that I’d be happy to take Lola at any time for any reason. Like say if her baby hated the cat. When I visited last weekend, old roomie finally asked to take me up on my offer. Not because the baby hates the cat, but because her fiancé has cat allergies, and Lola is getting less attention now that there is a newborn. I, of course, said yes.

I’m not sure yet when she will be making the move to my place. Likely Thanksgiving weekend when my parents come up to Toronto. From then on, I’m certain the blog and my Facebook and really all my conversations will just be about my cat.  There will likely be a lot of pictures. I may even change the blog name to Los in T.O. (for Lo and Lola).
